Kids Free for Racing and Fireworks at Flat Rock July 11
FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-30-09): Flat Rock Speedway officials have just announced that children up to age 14 will be admitted FREE for the Saturday, July 11 Triple 50's and Fireworks show. The ARCA Moran Chevrolet/Miller Lite Late Models, ARCA Figure 8's and ARCA Street Stocks will each stage 50 lap main events, with the Street Stock B Main race going 25 circuits. The night will conclude with the 29th annual Volcano Fireworks display.
Diversity Displayed at Toledo Speedway this Weekend
TOLEDO, OH: (7-1-09): Toledo Speedway's presence as an entertainment complex in the Glass City is quite evident by the schedule of events slated for the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend at the Benore Road facility. A classic car show, a Blues/Jazz concert, auto racing and the opening of the Toledo Speedway BMX Bicycle track are all part of the festivities planned for the holiday.
It has been six years since there have been over 40 super late models at Flat Rock Speedway, but 42 made their way to the track for the Stan Yee Memorial race, which was part of the Hantz Group (presented by Allegiant Air) Gold Cup series. For the last four years the Gold Cup races have been at held Toledo ... the last one run at Flat Rock was in 2005.
For the July 11 Triple 50's and Fireworks Night, the Figure 8's WILL NOT RUN HEAT RACES.
**It is very important that the Fireworks display goes off as early as possible. There are always a huge number of kids at this show; we have also decided to allow kids in FREE July 11.

USAC Returns to Toledo July 3; Hemelgarn, Super Fitness Back Event
TOLEDO, OH: (6-30-09): The entry lists for both the USAC National Sprint and Midget Series event at Toledo Speedway are taking shape as the Friday, July 3 race at Toledo Speedway nears. 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner, Ron Hemelgarn, and his Hemelgarn Racing Team will sponsor the race along with Super Fitness.
Tickets Now on Sale at Toledo Speedway for Monster Jam July 24/25
TOLEDO, OH: (6-24-09): Tickets are now on sale at the track office for the Monster Jam Summer Heat shows at Toledo Speedway, set for Friday and Saturday, July 24-25. Both events have a 7:30 p.m. start time.
Luberda Edges Lee in Stirring Duel; Wins Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock
FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-27-09): Mike Luberda was one of the first to arrive at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday afternoon. Luberda hurried through the gates and up to the edge of the speedway as track personnel started moving equipment in place for the 2nd Annual Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, his memories going back to the one and only time he visited the track, back in the mid-1970's with his father, Mike Sr., for one of the Wednesday night Michigan Speedway Promoter's Association Late Model shows.
TOLEDO, OH: (6-26-09): Defending champ Jim Froling avoided the "big one" and sailed to victory in the 50 lap ARCA Sportsman feature Friday evening at Toledo Speedway. Speedway Tire and Auto, 7-Up and the Destination Toledo Convention and Visitors Bureau sponsored the night of racing at the Glass City oval. Shaun Mills, representing Speedway Tire, presented the trophies in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle.
Due to the large pre-entry list for Saturday's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock Speedway, the Late Model Pit Registration will now open at 1 p.m. instead of 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Flat Rock Speedway. The rest of the time schedule remains the same.
Ann Yee Named Grand Marshal for Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial
FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-26-09): Ann Yee, widow of Stan Yee Sr., will serve as the Grand Marshal for the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 Saturday evening at Flat Rock Speedway. A total of 41 Late Models have pre-entered for the 150 lap contest, the biggest race of the season at the track.

Saturday's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 marks just the second year that Flat Rock Speedway's longest Late Model race of the season has been held in memory of Stan Yee, who found success as a car owner and builder for nearly five decades before passing away in 2008. However, the history of weekly Late Model Racing at Flat Rock Speedway dates back to 1962 and this weekend's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 marks the 14th consecutive season in which the track has contested a 150-lap Late Model feature.

Dave Stehouwer and Dave Sensiba are both entered, and with the addition of local Chris Benson and AuGres, MI driver Mike Luberda, the list now stands at 41 cars as of Friday morning.
